Zinnias are bright, easy-to-grow annual flowers that thrive in warm climates and bloom quickly. Starting them in seed trays ensures better germination and stronger plants.

Zinnia prefers warm climates and can be grown in any season, but spring, summer, and winter are the best times for sowing. For ideal growth, plant zinnia seeds when the weather is warm, typically between February to April or August to December in India.

Zinnia Seeds Sowing Method

1️⃣ Prepare the Seedling Tray or Pots

• Use a seedling tray or small pots with drainage holes.
  
• Fill them with a light potting mix – ideal mix:
  40% cocopeat + 30% compost + 30% garden soil.
  

2️⃣ Sow the Seeds

• Make small holes (about 0.5 cm deep) in each cell.
  
• Place one Zinnia seed per hole and lightly cover with soil.
  

3️⃣ Water Gently

• Use a spray bottle or a watering can to moisten the soil.
  
• Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy.
  

4️⃣ Provide Indirect Sunlight

• Keep the tray in a warm, bright area but out of direct sun.
  
• Seeds will germinate in 6–10 days under proper conditions.

5️⃣ Transplanting Zinnia Seedlings

• When the seedlings develop 2–3 true leaves (about 2–3 weeks after sowing), they are ready for transplanting.
