Product description

The Peperomia pecuniifolia — the Coin Leaf Peperomia — is a low-growing, bushy plant with thick, round, coin-shaped leaves that sit dense and full on spreading stems. It stays compact, needs watering only every one to two weeks, handles dry rooms and air conditioning without special treatment, and is confirmed safe for cats, dogs, and children. It is the kind of plant that looks immediately considered wherever it sits — and one of the easiest indoor plants to keep in good condition in a typical Indian home or office.

A round-leafed, pet-safe, low-water desk plant that looks after itself.

Also known as: Coin Peperomia, Round Leaf Peperomia, Baby Rubber Plant

PLANT Details

  • Botanical Name: Peperomia Pecuniifolia
  • Family: Piperaceae
  • Colour: Deep glossy green; lighter green on young leaves
  • Plant Characteristics: Compact, Bushy, Foliage, Succulent-Type, Drought Tolerant, Non-Toxic

Why You Will Love It

  • Pet Friendly: Peperomia is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it suitable for pet-friendly homes.

  • Round, coin-shaped leaves that look designed: The thick, glossy, circular leaves are distinctive and immediately decorative — a compact plant with a look that earns attention on any desk or shelf.

  • Water it and forget it — overwatering is the only real risk: Thick succulent-type leaves store water between waterings; the plant thrives on neglect far better than it tolerates daily attention.

  • Handles dry AC environments without misting or trays: Unlike ferns or Fittonia, Peperomia tolerates low ambient humidity — no pebble trays, no misting routine, no humidity management needed.

  • The cleanest gifting plant in this range: Non-toxic, low-maintenance, compact, and distinctive — it is the plant for colleagues, new homeowners, and pet owners who want something genuinely easy.

Inside The Box

  • Peperomia Pecuniifolia (Live Plant)
  • Selected Pot
  • Pre-moistened growing medium

Please Note

The plant you receive may slightly vary from the image shown due to natural growth patterns — this is normal. A few leaves may drop during transit; this is normal and temporary.

How To Care

  • Light: Bright to medium indirect light. A spot near an east- or north-facing window is ideal. Tolerates lower light but stems stretch and leaf density reduces; move to brighter indirect light to restore compactness. Avoid direct sun — leaves may bleach.

  • Water: The most important rule — less is more. Summer (March–June): every 10–14 days; let soil dry almost completely between waterings. Monsoon (July–September): every 14–21 days. Winter (October–February): every 21–28 days. Insert a finger 2–3 cm into soil; if still damp, wait another 3–4 days. Soft, mushy stems or leaves at the base are a sign of overwatering — reduce watering immediately and allow soil to dry fully.

  • Soil: Very well-draining mix essential — regular potting mix with 25–30% perlite or coarse sand. Standard nursery soil alone holds too much moisture for this plant.

  • Feeding: Very light feeder — balanced NPK at quarter strength, monthly March–September only. Skip October–February. Overfeeding causes leaf discolouration and root stress.

  • Repotting: Every 2–3 years; the 4-inch pot is correct for the plant at dispatch and suitable for 2+ years. Move to a 5-inch pot only when roots visibly emerge from drainage holes.
