Product description

The Lucky Jade Plant — Crassula ovata — is one of the most beloved indoor succulents in the world, and for very good reason. Thick, woody stems branch upward like a miniature tree, each tipped with clusters of plump, rounded, deep-green leaves that store water and shine with a natural waxy finish. It is extraordinarily long-lived — a well-kept Jade Plant can grow with a family for 20–30 years, slowly developing a gnarled, sculptural trunk that makes it more beautiful over time, not less. In Feng Shui and Vastu traditions, the Jade Plant is considered a symbol of good luck, prosperity, and positive energy — making it one of the most meaningful plants you can place at a home entrance, on a work desk, or gift at a housewarming. Low water, low light, low effort. High reward..

The plant that lives for decades, asks for almost nothing, and is said to bring good luck to every home it enters.

  • Common Names: Jade Plant, Lucky Plant, Money Plant Succulent, Friendship Tree, Dollar Plant
  • Colour: Deep green, plump oval leaves with a waxy finish; new growth emerges lighter lime-green

Why You Will Love It

  • A symbol of good luck and prosperity: Revered in Feng Shui and Vastu as a plant that attracts wealth, positive energy, and good fortune — one of the most meaningful plants you can place in a home or gift.

  • Gets more beautiful every year: Thick woody stems develop a sculptural, tree-like form with age — the longer you keep it, the more impressive it becomes. A 10-year-old Jade Plant is a statement piece.

  • Thrives on neglect: Stores water in its plump leaves — water every 10–30 days depending on the season. Forgives missed waterings completely. One of the most drought-tolerant indoor plants available.

  • Adaptable to Indian homes: Grows in bright indirect light, morning sun windowsills, and semi-shaded indoor spots — comfortable in most Indian home lighting conditions.

  • The most meaningful housewarming or gifting plant: Long-lived, symbolic, low-maintenance, and visually striking — a gift that will still be thriving 20 years from now.

  • Perfect for any desk or windowsill: Compact, tidy, upright, and architectural — it fits any space without outgrowing it quickly.

Please Note

The plant you receive may vary slightly from the images in height, branch count, and exact spread — this is completely natural and a sign of authenticity. Each Jade Plant develops its own branching pattern; yours may be slightly more compact or more open than pictured.

How To Care

  • Light: Bright indirect light or 3–4 hours of gentle morning sun daily. An east or south-facing windowsill is ideal. Jade Plants can adapt to lower indoor light but growth slows and leaves may become less plump. Avoid harsh afternoon sun in peak Indian summer — leaves may scorch.

  • Water:

Summer: every 10–14 days.

Monsoon: every 20–25 days — reduce significantly; overwatering in monsoon humidity is the most common cause of root rot in Jade Plants.

Winter: every 20–30 days. Always let the soil dry out completely between waterings. If in doubt, wait another 3–5 days — Jade Plants always prefer underwatering to overwatering.

  • Soil: Fast-draining succulent or cactus mix. Equal parts potting soil and coarse sand or perlite (50:50). Never use moisture-retaining mixes — they hold water too long and cause root rot.

  • Pot: Always use a pot with drainage holes. Terra cotta pots are ideal as they allow soil to dry faster between waterings — a natural fit for succulent care.

  • Feeding: Diluted succulent fertiliser or half-strength balanced liquid feed (NPK 10-10-10) once every 6–8 weeks during the growing season only. No feeding in winter — the plant is resting. Over-fertilising causes leggy, weak growth.

  • Repotting: Every 2–3 years, or when visibly root-bound. Jade Plants are comfortable slightly pot-bound and do not need frequent repotting. Move to a pot only 1–2 inches larger each time — too large a pot holds excess moisture.

  • Pruning: Pinch or trim stem tips in spring to encourage bushier branching. Remove any leggy or sparse stems at the base. Pruning stimulates dense, compact growth.
