Common pests and diseases - Pests such as leaf hoppers, aphids, and ladybugs stunt plant growth. And aster yellow is a viral disease that infects the Gaillardia plant so it is best to remove the infected plant to avoid the spread of these diseases. You can use neem oil on the plant to control these pests.
Mulching - A thin layer of mulch during the growing winter season is good for retaining moisture and protecting the gaillardia plant from cold weather.
