Pole Beans Growing Season In India

Beans grown throughout the year in three seasons Kharif – June/July, Rabi – October/November and Summer –February/March.

How To Grow Pole beans

The direct sowing method is the best for planting pole beans. Pole beans are perfect for kitchen gardens and grow very well in any pots or grow bags that are 36-60 cm(wide and deep). Pole beans grow fast in warm and bright conditions and need regular watering especially when plants start to flower and form pods. Pole beans are a climbing vine plant that grows 300-450 cm tall, so it needs at least 180 cm of support (such as a tepee, trellis, or bamboo) to grow. Make sure that the seedling should receive adequate indirect sunlight if you plant the seedling indoors. Pole bean seeds germinate fast in temperatures from 18-26°C.

Pole Beans Seeds Sowing Method

Pole bean seeds should be sown directly rather than transplanted. Select a pot or grow bag and fill it with a sowing medium. Sown 1-2 Pole bean seeds per pot about 2-2.5 cm deep in the soil at a distance of 5-8 cm from each seed. Give deep water to your Pole bean pots every day by using a watering can and make sure that Pole beans get water in the form of the shower, not by a single flow. Keep the pot in a sunny place for seeds to germinate. Pole bean seeds will be germinated in 7-14 days (depending on growing conditions).

How To Fertilize Pole Beans Plant

Pole beans do not require much feed as they act as nitrogen fixation. Apply any organic fertilizer (vermicompost, neem cake, mustard cake, etc) after 25-30 days from planting, to get the healthy pods.

Pole bean review

Have twice sowed the seeds in pot but out of 10 seeds only two have germinated. May be because of delhi temperature or excessive water because of rains (pots are in open on roof) during past 15- 20 days, though there is no water logging. Your suggestion/ advice is welcome.
